Social media highlights the overlooked impact of cats on arthropods
The impact of domestic cats on vertebrate biodiversity is unequivocal; however, we still know little about their effects on arthropods. By analysing over 17,000 photos and videos from social media platforms (iStock and TikTok), we documented 550 predation events of cats on arthropods.

Conversion of rainforest to oil palm and rubber plantations alters energy channels in soil food webs
We investigated community‐level neutral lipid fatty acid profiles in soil fauna in rainforest, rubber, and oil palm plantations in Sumatra. Different taxonomic groups were linked to different energy channels. Conversion to rubber decreased mycorrhizal energy channel while conversion to oil palm increased plant energy channel.
