Comparative osteology of Cyclopsis tentacularis (Cyclopteridae, Scorpaeniformes)

Journal of Ichthyology, 2009
The structure of the skeleton of Cyclopsis tentacularis, an endemic species from the northern part of the Sea of Okhotsk, is studied for the first time. Generally, it corresponds to that in other representatives of Cyclopteridae. The differences in structure of Cyclopsis and of other investigated cyclopterids are both plesiomorphic and apomorphic.

Complete mitochondrial genome of the Scorpaenopsis cirrhosa (Scorpaeniformes: Scorpaenidae)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2015
The complete mitochondrial genome of the Scorpaenopsis cirrhosa has been sequenced. The mitochondrial genome is 16 966 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and 1 control region. The gene order and composition of S. cirrhosa mitochondrial genome was similar to that of most other vertebrates. The

Molecular Systematics of the Genus Cottus (Scorpaeniformes: Cottidae)

Copeia, 2005
Abstract To evaluate the monophyly of Cottus and to identify species groups within the genus we generated a data set of 1914 base pairs of mitochondrial DNA (cytochrome b and ATPase 8 and 6) for 87 individuals representing 36 of the 42 currently recognized species of the genus.

Parasite fauna of Baikal oilfishes (Comephorus spp.) (Cottidae, Scorpaeniformes) in Lake Baikal and its changes in the age series of the hosts

Povolzhskiy Journal of Ecology
The big and little Baikal oilfish are endemic to the Baikal Lake, being the most numerous fish species there. Only these two species make up the group of pelagic fish of Lake Baikal.

A southward range extension of the rockfish, Sebastes ventricosus (Scorpaeniformes: Scorpaenidae: Sebastinae) to Matsu Islands, Taiwan.

Zootaxa
The rockfish species, Sebastes ventricosus Temminck & Schlegel, 1843, previously documented in the southern Korean Peninsula and Japan, typically at latitudes above 32° N, is recorded for the first time in Matsu Islands, Lienchiang County, Taiwan (ca. 26°

Juvenile development of a flathead,Suggrundus meerdervoortii (Scorpaeniformes: Platycephalidae)

Ichthyological Research, 1996
Juvenile development ofSuggrundus meerdervoortii was described, based on twelve specimens (12.9–43.8 mm SL) collected from off Yamagata Prefecture, Japan Sea. Two exterior openings in the lateral line scales were completed at ca. 35 mm SL, with the interopercular flap and iris lappet being visible at ca.

Electrophoretic studies on some species of Scorpaeniformes (Teleostei, Percomorpha)

Italian Journal of Zoology, 1999
Abstract Data on the electrophoretic patterns of 22 enzyme systems were used to investigate the relationships among six species of two scorpaeniform teleost families, Scorpaenidae and Triglidae. The level of genetic differentiation among three species of the genus Scorpaena was similar to, or higher than, the value determined among three species of ...
