Location Based Alteration of Simulation Models for Multi Screen VR Applications

Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications, 2014
Simulation and VR application models may depend on parameters that are location dependent. To enhance portability and to speed up deployment times we propose a method, which uses a separate location based deployment model that gets loaded automatically by the simulation system.

Cystic fibrosis Δf508 mutation screening in Brazilian women with altered fertility

Molecular Biology Reports, 2010
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disease, caused by mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Regulator gene (CFTR). The most frequent mutation in CF is ΔF508. The disease is clinically characterized by elevated concentrations of sweat chlorides and abnormally thick mucus.

Screening of clones containing altered DNA conformations by plasmid topoprofile shift

Journal of Biochemical and Biophysical Methods, 1991
DNA topoprofile of supercoiled plasmid is influenced by the presence of altered structures in some stretches. We describe a non-radioactive method for screening the clones containing such altered structures.

The Quasi-Face of the Cell Phone: Rethinking Alterity and Screens

Human Studies, 2014
Why does a cell phone have a screen? From televisions and cell phones to refrigerators, many contemporary technologies come with a screen. The article aims at answering this question by employing Emmanuel Levinas’ notions of the Other and the face.

Baseline Illness Severity Does Not Alter Accuracy of Neonatal Sepsis Screen

American Journal of Perinatology, 2009
We investigated the relationship between illness severity and accuracy of neonatal sepsis screen. Consecutive neonates with clinically suspected early onset sepsis (EOS) were enrolled and blood culture and sepsis screen [C-reactive protein, absolute neutrophil count, immature to total ratio (ITR) and microerythrocyte sedimentation rate] were performed.

How Does the Serrated Polyp Pathway Alter CRC Screening and Surveillance?

Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 2015
Screening and surveillance for colorectal cancer (CRC) reduces mortality through the detection of early-stage adenocarcinoma, and more importantly the detection and removal of premalignant polyps. While adenomas have historically been considered the most common and screening-relevant precursor lesions, there is accumulating evidence showing that the ...
