The application of the fragment-based screening approach to RmlA protein and PA1645 structure
P. aerguinosa is a serious human bacterial pathogen. This thesis describes attempts to use structural biology to identify new starting points for drugs against P.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Decisions about Pap tests: What influences women and providers? [PDF]
Despite the success internationally of cervical screening programs debate continues about optimal program design. This includes increasing participation rates among under-screened women, reducing unnecessary early re-screening, improving accuracy of and ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

An assessment of efficiency in potential screening for Wilson’s disease
SUMMARY The efficiency of screening for Wilson's disease by serum caeruloplasmin determination was assessed by analysing the epidemiologic data of 289 affected families in Japan. The estimated gene frequency was 55 x 103.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Efficient Citation Screening by Weak Classifier Ensemble*
Abstract Citation screening in systematic review is time-consuming. Machine learning can help semi-automate it but faces obstacles. Each systematic review is a new dataset without initial annotations. Extreme class imbalance against irrelevant studies makes it difficult to select a good subset of samples to train a classifier. The rigid
