Attitude control of a satellite using the SDRE method
Proceedings of the 1997 American Control Conference (Cat. No.97CH36041), 1997Examines the use of nonlinear regulation for attitude control of a satellite controlled by internal momentum rotors. Specifically, the nonlinear method using the state dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) developed by Cloutier, D'Souza, and Mracek (1996) is applied and examined under numerical simulations.

A Note on SDRE Control Applied in the Fermentation Reactor
International Review of Mechanical Engineering (IREME), 2019In this work, the dynamic behaviour of a bioreactor model designed for fermentation processes is investigated. The production of ethanol is presented analyzing the temperature of the fermenter, which is controlled by the flow of the cooling fluid (water) which passes through the jacket of the fermenter.

Multi-timescale SDRE control for an unmanned helicopter
2010 2nd International Conference on Advanced Computer Control, 2010This paper proposes an improved state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) attitude control approach which is applied to an unmanned helicopter (UMH) through a multi-timescale structure. To deal with inherent unstable internal dynamics, the flapping and rotational dynamics of the helicopter are organized into a two-timescale nonlinear model.

SDRE AUTOPILOT FOR DUAL CONTROLLED MISSILES
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2007Abstract The SDRE technique is used to develop an autopilot design for a dual controlled (tail and canard) missile. Dual control missiles can have difficulty achieving high angles of attack and thus high levels of lateral acceleration because the control surfaces move together to achieve quick responses but in steady state the deflections can be ...

A design of servo controller with SDRE for nonlinear systems
Proceedings of the 41st SICE Annual Conference. SICE 2002., 2003In this paper, we propose a new servo controller design method for nonlinear systems, which can be considered as an extended version of the Smith-Davison type servo controller. The control input of the controller is given by computing the Riccati equation dependent on the state, which is called the SDRE (state dependent Riccati equation), repeatedly at

QUASI-OPTIMUM CONTROL AND THE SDRE METHOD
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2007Abstract Two suboptimum control methods are compared. One is the currently popular state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) method and the other is based on the quasi-optimum control method developed by the author in the 1960's. Both methods are applied to a nonlinear dynamic system with a quadratic performance criterion.

Adaptive SDRE based nonlinear sensorless speed control for PMSM drives
2009 American Control Conference, 2007This paper presents a new adaptive nonlinear control approach for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives, without requiring speed sensors. The proposed approach is based on state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) control technique and its real-time computation method by gradient-type neural networks, that allows one to control PMSM online ...

Real-time computational methods for SDRE nonlinear control of missiles
Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2003Computational speed and performance issues arising in the practical implementation of the state dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) technique are discussed. A software package for real-time implementation of the SDRE technique was developed during the present research.

Barrier Function-Based SDRE Control for Nonlinear Systems with State Constraints
2021 American Control Conference (ACC), 2021Many real life systems operate in restricted state space. This study presents a new controller design technique for solving nonlinear regulator problems under the state dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) framework for systems with state constraints. A barrier function-based weighting matrix is designed to handle the state constraints. Stability analysis
