Assessment of Climate Changes in the Caspian Sea by trend analyzing the sea surface temperature [PDF]
Changes the Sea surface temperature and lake can have significant impacts on marine ecosystems and the lives of human societies on the edges of these seas.

Ocean temperature and salinity components of the Madden-Julian oscillation observed by Argo floats [PDF]
New diagnostics of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) cycle in ocean temperature and, for the first time, salinity are presented. The MJO composites are based on 4 years of gridded Argo float data from 2003 to 2006, and extend from the surface to 1,400 ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The last interglacial in the northern North Atlantic and adjacent areas: evidence for a more zonal climate than during the Holocene [PDF]
We document climate conditions from the last interglacial optimum (LIO) or marine isotope stage 5e (MIS 5e) from terrestrial and oceanic sedimentary archives.

The Effect of Milankovitch Variations in Insolation on Equatorial Seasonality [PDF]
Although the sun crosses the equator 2 times per year at the equinoxes, at times in the past the equatorial insolation has had only one maximum and one minimum throughout the seasonal cycle because of Milankovitch orbital variations.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Sea surface temperatures at Millport [PDF]
Sea surface temperatures have been taken daily at Keppel Pier, Millport (55° 44‘ 55“ N. lat.; 4° 54’ 20” W. long.), for the past 10 years (1949–58), the data being included in returns to the Meteorological Office. The records are not given in their standard publication and they are, therefore, presented here to supplement those of Cooper (1958) for ...

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
