Sea Surface Wind Direction Retrieval Based on Convolution Neural Network and Wavelet Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2022
Sea surface wind streak is one of many geophysical phenomena in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, which is often used to obtain sea surface wind direction. At present, the recognition of wind streaks mainly depends on artificial experience, and the recognition efficiency and accuracy are not high.

A New Wind Speed Retrieval Method for an Ocean Surface Using the Waveform Width of a Laser Altimeter

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Remote Sensing, 2017
The current retrieval method of sea wind speeds using a space-borne laser device is based on the received energies, which are significantly influenced by the absorption and scatter effect in the atmosphere.

Research on a Simulation Model of a Skywave Over-the-Horizon Radar Sea Echo Spectrum

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
The capability of a skywave over-the-horizon radar (SWR) to achieve the continuous observation of a wide range of ocean dynamics parameters via a single ionospheric reflection has been demonstrated by many scholars.

Derivation of Sea Surface Wind Directions from TerraSAR-X Data Using the Local Gradient Method

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2016
Derivation of sea surface wind direction is a key step of sea surface wind retrieval from spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. This technical note describes an implementation of the Local Gradient (LG) method to derive sea surface wind ...

Development of Wind Speed Retrieval from Cross-Polarization Chinese Gaofen-3 Synthetic Aperture Radar in Typhoons

open access: yesSensors, 2018
The purpose of our work is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of retrieving sea surface wind speeds from C-band cross-polarization (herein vertical-horizontal, VH) Chinese Gaofen-3 (GF-3) SAR images in typhoons.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Floating Doppler Wind Lidar: assessment of the sea-motion-induced error in the retrieved wind vector

open access: yes, 2022
This work presents an analytical formulation to assess the six-degrees-of-freedom motion-induced error on floating Doppler Wind lidars (FDWL). Error products are the horizontal wind speed bias and apparent turbulence intensity. Departing from a geometrical formulation of the FDWL attitude and of the lidar retrieval algorithm, the rotational and ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
