Deep Argo improves mapping of the seafloor
The knowledge of the shape and depth of the bottom of the ocean is critical to assess and predict plate tectonic movement, tsunami generation, tidal circulation, storm surge propagation and the evolution of habitats near the seafloor. Shipboard sounding surveys cover less than 25% of the ocean floor leaving 75% uncharted.Nathalie Zilberman +7 more

Mapping And Classification Of Deep Seafloor Habitats
No abstracts are to be cited without prior reference to the author.Using geophysical data collected with a variety of remote sensor systems and in situ biological and geological observations, we have constructed a geologically and biologically based template to be used to standardize habitat types in water depths greater than 30 meters.Greene, H.Gary +8 more

Seafloor Mapping and 3D watching Teaching activities
Starting from the NMEA (National Marine Educators Association) principle ”The ocean covers 70% of Earth, but less than 20% of it has been mapped, observed, and explored”, I propose to my 9 -11 grade students an education theme from NOAA Ocean Exploration about seafloor mapping.openaire +1 more source
