Application of CFD to seakeeping
Simulations were done in both Star-CCM+ and FINE/Marine in both calm water and in waves on the KVLCC2 hull. Due to problems and following time limitations only one wave were simulated in FINE/Marine, and 7 wave cases were done in Star-CCM+. The preliminary results for the added resistance seemed to be over-estimated in comparison to model tests that ...

Uncertainties in seakeeping analysis and related loads and response procedures
This paper presents the uncertainties in seakeeping analysis and the related International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) procedures for loads and responses for waves. One of the emerging issues in ITTC activities is uncertainty analysis.

We consider the unsteady motion of a rigid body floating in a basin under the action of gravity, of the water pressure and of other prescribed extenrnal forces. The system is assumed to be initially in a rest position of equilibrium and the linear model is adopted.
