Comparative analysis of seakeeping methods: numerical, software simulation and experimental study
The current study case presents a comprehensive comparison of seakeeping analysis methods, utilizing the seakeeping numerical analysis based on Lewis’s form description of a hull, Ansys Aqwa, and experimental data obtained from the towing tank of the ...

The ongoing development of deep‐sea resources has contributed toward the widespread use of dynamic positioning (DP) systems that can operate in arbitrary sea areas without the limitation of operating water depth compared to mooring systems. The second‐order slowly varying forces can be compensated by DP feedback control.

Abstract In order to tackle the marine practical constraints, for example the actuator faults, the dead‐zone input, an improved composite adaptive neural control algorithm is proposed for dynamic positioning vehicles in presence of the unknown external disturbances. In the algorithm, the robust neural damping technique is employed to remodel the system

Research on Ship Meteorological Route Based on A‐Star Algorithm
Ship meteorological navigation is based on hydrometeorological data of a certain time scale, considering the ship’s motion characteristics and its own characteristics. First, we provide the best route for the ship and then use real‐time local weather information to correct the route during the ship’s navigation.

Vertical Motion Optimization of Series 60 Hull Forms Using Response Surface Methods
There are many aspects to analyze seakeeping performance, one of which is the ship's vertical motion. As well-known, vertical motion and its derivatives, vertical velocity and acceleration, will be related to other aspects of seakeeping performance, such

Seakeeping index as generalized indicator of ship seakeeping performance
Object and purpose of research. This paper discusses the possibility of a ship design process that would consider seakeeping performance to the greatest extent possible. The purpose of this study was to work out a numerical indicator, an index, reflecting all the seakeeping properties relevant for suitability of given ship to its intended operational ...

Stability of a high‐speed craft is an essential matter, and porpoising is one of the most critical instabilities that could occur in some planing hulls due to inappropriate design. In this paper, the porpoising phenomenon and variation of step location yielding resistance reduction are studied through experimental and numerical methods.

Hydrodynamic Analysis of Ship with Well Deck in the Linear Numerical Wave Tank
In recent years, the development and construction of islands and reefs has been proposed by the government and commercial company. However, as a large cargo carrier cannot reach islands and reefs if the harbor is not available, such type of carrier which has well deck is designed to meet the requirements of delivering people and equipment.
