The Q0-matrix completion problem [PDF]

open access: yesArab Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2021
A matrix is a Q0-matrix if for every k∈{1,2,…,n}, the sum of all k×k principal minors is nonnegative. In this paper, we study some necessary and sufficient conditions for a digraph to have Q0-completion. Later on we discuss the relationship between Q and

First confirmed records of white-coat pups of the Endangered Caspian seal Pusa caspica on the coast of Iran

open access: yesOryx
The endemic Caspian seal Pusa caspica breeds on land-fast ice or stable drift ice in the northern Caspian Sea. Breeding has rarely been reported in the ice-free south-eastern Caspian Sea.

Reproductive performance links to fine-scale spatial patterns of female grey seal relatedness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Fine–scale spatial patterns of female relatedness throughout the established grey seal breeding colony of North Rona, Scotland, were investigated by accurate mapping and spatially explicit analyses of a large sample (n=262) of mothers using variation at ...

PORTING ARDUPILOT TO ESP32: TOWARDS A UNIVERSAL OPEN-SOURCE ARCHITECTURE FOR AGILE AND EASILY REPLICABLE MULTI-DOMAINS MAPPING ROBOTS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
In this article, we are interested in the implementation of an open-source low-level architecture (critical system) adapted to agile and easily replicable close-range remote sensing robots operating in multiple evolution domains.

SEAL: Sealed-Bid Auction Without Auctioneers [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2020
We propose the first auctioneer-free sealed-bid auction protocol with a linear computation and communication complexity O(c), c being the bit length of the bid price. Our protocol, called Self-Enforcing Auction Lot (SEAL), operates in a decentralized setting, where bidders jointly compute the maximum bid while preserving the privacy of losing bids.

Cracking and Toughening Mechanisms in Nanoscale Metallic Multilayer Films: A Brief Review

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Nanoscale metallic multilayer films (NMMFs) have captured scientific interests on their mechanical responses. Compared with the properties of monolithic films, multilayers possess unique high strength as the individual layer thickness reduces to the ...

Age-specific survival and reproductive rates of Mediterranean monk seals at the Cabo Blanco Peninsula, West Africa

open access: yesEndangered Species Research, 2021
We provide the first complete set of survival rate estimates for the Endangered Mediterranean monk seal Monachus monachus from birth into adulthood, as well as the first age-specific reproductive rates for the species.

Seals and sealings

open access: yes
The glyptic assemblage from the Neo-Assyrian well in area C includes eight finds, three from the second to last layer, four from the one above it and one from a middle layer. These pieces from various filling layers of the shaft were retrieved at different elevations, having been thrown away at the time when the Babylonians in 605 BCE put an end to the

Mitigating the Effects of Maternal Loss on Harbour Seal Pups in Captive Care

open access: yesAnimals
Stranded newborn “orphan” harbour seal pups entering captive care are often maintained for some weeks in isolation, mainly as a precaution against the spread of infection. However, this practice raises concerns for the welfare and normal socialisation of

Corrosion-resistant cobalt phosphide electrocatalysts for salinity tolerance hydrogen evolution

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Seawater electrolysis is a viable method for producing hydrogen on a large scale and low-cost. However, the catalyst activity during the seawater splitting process will dramatically degrade as salt concentrations increasing.
