Impact of Lubricating Oil Leakage Characteristics of a Bearing Cavity Sealing System Based on an Oil–Gas Two-Phase Flow

open access: yesLubricants
In this paper, we aim to study the oil–gas two-phase flow characteristics, leakage characteristics, and critical oil sealing characteristics of the bearing cavity sealing system of aero-engine bearings.

High-Throughput Calculation of Interlayer van der Waals Forces Validated with Experimental Measurements

open access: yesResearch, 2022
Interlayer van der Waals interactions play an important role in two-dimensional (2D) materials on various occasions. The interlayer binding force is often directly measured and is considered more closely related to the exfoliation condition.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Miscible chemical ordering in Ti-Cr-Mo quinary system by solid solution of Mo2Ti2AlC3 and Cr2.5Ti1.5AlC3 o-MAXs

open access: yesNature Communications
Out-of-plane ordering is promising for separately adjusting the heterodesmic chemical bonding inside the MAX phase thus tuning their properties, while constructing the out-of-plane ordered-MAX (o-MAX) is still a challenge.

Transformation of chemical ordering and configuration entropy in quaternary CrxTi0.75Mo0.75V1.5−xAlC2 MAX system

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Two new quaternary CrxTi0.75Mo0.75V1.5−xAlC2 (x = 1.25 and 1) MAXs and Cr0.75Ti0.75Mo0.75V0.75AlC2 are synthesized via hot pressing. An unprecedented transition in M-site atomic occupancy from out-of-plane order to solid solution is observed along with ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Seals and sealings

open access: yes
The glyptic assemblage from the Neo-Assyrian well in area C includes eight finds, three from the second to last layer, four from the one above it and one from a middle layer. These pieces from various filling layers of the shaft were retrieved at different elevations, having been thrown away at the time when the Babylonians in 605 BCE put an end to the

Hydrostatic pressure activates HIF‐1α via β‐catenin to promote stemness in breast cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
To mimic the elevated intestinal fluid pressure in breast cancers, we loaded human breast cancer cells (MCF‐7, MDA‐MB‐453, and BT‐474) to 50 mmHg hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure exposure upregulated HIF‐1α and induced stemness in MCF‐7 and BT‐474 cells.
