Dynamic sealing ability of MTA root canal sealer.

open access: yesInternational endodontic journal, 2011
To evaluate (i) the sealing ability of two sealers, mineral trioxide aggregate sealer (MTAS) and Pulp Canal Sealer (PCS), used with gutta-percha utilizing the fluid filtration method, (ii) leaching and surface characteristics in Hank's balanced salt solution (HBSS) over a period of time.Surface characteristics in HBSS were evaluated under the scanning ...

Bonding effectiveness and sealing ability of fiber-post bonding

open access: yesDental Materials, 2008
OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the push-out bond strength and the sealing ability of five adhesive cements routinely used for fiber-post bonding. METHODS: Fifty extracted single-rooted teeth were randomly divided in five groups and restored using Parapost ...

Quantitative Measures for Characterizing the Sealing Ability of Caprock with Pore Networks in CO2 Geological Storage [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2014
Existence of high quality caprocks is one of the necessary conditions to realize effective geological sequestration of CO2. Existing measures for the evaluation of caprock sealing ability cannot represent the sealing effect of formation thickness.

The sealing ability of sealapex compared with AH26

Journal of Endodontics, 1986
A new calcium hydroxide root canal sealer (Sealapex) was tested in vitro for leakage using another sealer (AH26) for which information is already available for comparison. Leakage patterns were observed over 26 wk using the electrochemical method. Sealapex was found to exhibit significantly less leakage than AH26 up to the 12th wk, but this difference ...

Sealing ability of Thermafil with and without sealer

Journal of Endodontics, 1992
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the apical sealing ability of root canals filled using three obturating techniques. Sixteen maxillary first molars were obturated with Thermafil, 16 with Thermafil and a ZOE sealer, and 16 with laterally condensed gutta-percha. Two canal instrumentation methods were used, conventional step-back preparation with

The sealing ability of the thermafil obturation technique

Journal of Endodontics, 1990
Forty straight canals of maxillary canines and 40 curved canals in 20 mesial roots of mandibular molars were instrumented and randomly assigned to two groups of 40 canals each. For the experimental group, the canals were obturated using the Thermafil obturation technique. Lateral condensation was used for the obturation of the control group.

Sealing ability of four retrofilling techniques

Journal of Endodontics, 1986
The sealing ability of four retrofilling techniques was studied in six rhesus monkeys ( Macaca mulatta ). Forty-eight teeth were instrumented and obturated using laterally condensed gutta-percha. The four retrofilling techniques—apicoectomy alone, apicoectomy with an amalgam retrofilling, apicoectomy with heat-sealed gutta-percha, and apicoectomy with ...
