Finite-state models for speech-based search on mobile devices
Natural Language Engineering, 2011AbstractIn this paper, we present techniques that exploit finite-state models for voice search applications. In particular, we illustrate the use of finite-state models for encoding the search index in order to tightly integrate the speech recognition and the search components of a voice search system.

Speech and Song Search on the Web: System Design and Implementation
7th IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (CIT 2007), 2007This paper proposes a novel search system for speech and song segments. The amount of accumulated video data in the World Wide Web is expanding and its content is varied. Video content includes natural voices and singing voices, and these differ in their phoneme lengths. Our system uses frame-wise phoneme recognition and continuous dynamic programming (

Optimized searching of video based on speech and video text content
2015 International Conference on Soft-Computing and Networks Security (ICSNS), 2015Digitalized video has become an established storage and exchange medium due to the fast development in recording technology. E-lecturing has become added professional popular. The number of lecture video data on the web is growing quickly. Therefore, an additional skillful method for video retrieval within huge lecture video archives is immediately ...

Speech Enhancement Approach Based on Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA)
2016In this chapter, we propose a novel heuristic algorithm (Rashedi et al. in Inf Sci 2232–2248, 2009) called gravitational search algorithm (GSA) to speech enhancement. All the previously proposed stochastic approaches to dual-channel speech enhancement are based on the variants of particle swarm optimization (PSO).

On parsing direction and tree search in the LITHAN speech understanding system
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1978We compared two parsing directions in a search space, one which starts the parsing from left to right, and another which first identifies the predicate and then starts the parsing from left to right. The latter method was found to be superior. The predicate can be easily found in Japanese, since it is located at the end of a sentence.

Study on Fast Fixed-Codebook Search Algorithm in G.729 Speech Coding
2009 Second International Workshop on Computer Science and Engineering, 2009G.729 is called Conjugate Structured-Algebraic Code Excited Linear Prediction (CS-ACELP), its fixed-codebook adopts algebraic- codebook. The algebraic structure of the codebook allows for a fast search procedure, but it still requires large computational load using the nested-loop search method. The focused search used in G.729 and the depth-first tree

End-to-end speech recognition and keyword search on low-resource languages
2017 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2017In recent years, so-called, “end-to-end” speech recognition systems have emerged as viable alternatives to traditional ASR frameworks. Keyword search, localizing an orthographic query in a speech corpus, is typically performed by using automatic speech recognition (ASR) to generate an index. Previous work has evaluated the use of end-to-end systems for

Finding relevant features for zero-resource query-by-example search on speech
Speech Communication, 2016Zero-resource query-by-example search on speech strategies have raised the interest of the research community, as they do not imply training (and therefore, large amounts of training data) or any knowledge about either the language to be processed or any others.

A Study on Pulse Search Algorithms for Multipulse Excited Speech Coder Realization
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1986This paper describes and compares several kinds of pulse search methods for multipulse excited speech coder realization. These pulse search methods are derived from minimization criterion for errorpower between original speech and synthetic speech, but their performances and required computation amounts are different.
