Ocean shrimp report 1972 season [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
California's 1972 ocean shrimp landings totaled 2,488,683 pounds, a decrease of 585,857 pounds from the 1971 season when 3,074,540 pounds were landed. The decrease resulted primarily from the failure of the vessels to reach the quotas in Areas A, B-1 and

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

TIP aquaporins in Cyperus esculentus: genome-wide identification, expression profiles, subcellular localizations, and interaction patterns

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Tonoplast intrinsic proteins (TIPs), which typically mediate water transport across vacuolar membranes, play an essential role in plant growth, development, and stress responses.

New Insights into Structure and Function Predictions of TIFY Genes in Barley: A Genome-Wide Comprehensive Analysis

open access: yesAgronomy
Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is the fourth-largest cereal crop widely grown for livestock feed, brewing malts and human food. The TIFY family is a plant-specific protein family with diverse functions in plant growth, development and stress responses ...

Ocean shrimp report 1976 season [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Statewide Pacific ocean shrimp, Pandalus jordani, landings totaled 3,400,191 lb, down from the 1975 record catch of 4,992,233 lb but well above the 10-year (1966-1975) mean of 2.6 million lb. Landings from Areas A (Eureka-Crescent City) and B-1 (Fort

Seasonality and determinants of child growth velocity and growth deficit in rural southwest Ethiopia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Ethiopia faces cyclic food insecurity that alternates between pre- and post-harvest seasons. Whether seasonal variation in access to food is associated with child growth has not been assessed empirically.

Lithiation‐Driven LiCrSe2 Shell Growth on Metallic CrSe2 Core Governs the Plateau–Slope Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Layered CrSe2 is investigated as a lithium‐ion battery cathode combining fast Li+ diffusion and structural reversibility. Calculations and experiments reveal a single topotactic intercalation process with a characteristic plateau–slope profile governed by lithiation‐induced conductivity changes. A core‐shell lithiation evolution underpins its high‐rate

Integrative Analysis of Oleosin Genes Provides Insights into Lineage-Specific Family Evolution in Brassicales

open access: yesPlants
Oleosins (OLEs) are a class of small but abundant structural proteins that play essential roles in the formation and stabilization of lipid droplets (LDs) in seeds of oil crops.

Effects of rations and seasons on milk yield and composition in small and medium dairy farms from a Tunisian northern area (Bizerte Region)

open access: yesMljekarstvo, 2021
In Tunisia, dairy farming faced several problems limiting the improvement of the milk sector, mostly at the level of small farmers. These difficulties are related to the milk quality affected by the feed quality distributed throughout the year.

OsGSK2‐OsTCP19 Module Integrates Nitrogen and Brassinosteroid Signaling to Regulate Nitrogen Utilization and Root Growth in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
OsGSK2‐OsTCP19 module regulating nitrate response and lateral root (LR) development. Low‐nitrate condition results in reduced BR response, accumulation of OsGSK2 and phosphorylated OsTCP19, which suppresses the expression of nitrate‐responsive genes and LR‐development genes and impairs rice growth.
