Muir–Torre syndrome: sebaceous carcinoma concurrent with colon cancer in a kidney transplant recipient; a case report

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2019
Background Sebaceous carcinoma is a rare but progressive malignant skin cancer, and the incidence is approximately five times higher in post-transplant patients than in people who have not received kidney transplants.

Advanced Upper Eyelid Sebaceous Gland Carcinoma with Deep Orbital Extension

open access: yes, 2010
Sebaceous gland carcinomas (SGC) are highly malignant lid tumors which originate from meibomian glands and rarely from the gland of Zeis, sebaceous gland of caruncle, eyebrows and periocular skin. In many cases correct diagnosis of SGC is delayed because

UV-independent p53 mutations in sebaceous carcinoma of the eyelid

open access: yes, 2014
Sebaceous carcinoma of the eyelid is a potentially fatal malignancy that has been associated with p53 gene mutations. The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency of p53 mutations in sebaceous carcinoma of the eyelid and to determine whether ...

CCT2 Promotes Prostate Cancer Progression Through EIF3F‐Dependent Stabilization of FASN

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is increasingly recognized to be driven by dysregulated lipid metabolism. Although fatty acid synthase (FASN) is highly expressed in PCa, the mechanisms governing FASN protein stability and its functional integration into oncogenic lipid metabolism remain poorly defined.

Spatiotemporal Targeting Randle Cycle and Immune Checkpoint for Potent Antitumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A glucose oxidase‐based nanogel (GOX‐NG) system using catechol‐functionalized alginate, exhibits enhanced tumor penetration, prolonged retention, and sustained glucose depletion in the tumor microenvironment. When combined with a fatty acid oxidation inhibitor, it implements dual metabolic suppression, thereby enhancing ROS‐induced immunogenic cell ...

Recurrent sebaceous carcinoma with wide intraepithelial spread to the nasal cavity: Report of two cases

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) is a relatively rare tumor that usually arises from the eyelid. Local extension down the nasolacrimal duct is relatively rare event for SC. Method: We herein report two cases of recurrent SC in the nasal cavity.

Cholesterol Laundry of Cell Membrane and Fatty Liver by Detergent Liposomes to Improve Anti‐Cancer Drug Responsiveness of Patient Liver Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.
