Delivery of Pleckstrin‐Homology Domains Suppresses PI3K/Akt Signaling and Breast Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current therapies curb tumor growth but not metastasis. Obscurin, a giant metastasis suppressor lost in breast cancer, restrains PI3K/Akt signaling but is impractical to restore. We deploy a mini‐obscurin, comprising the obscurin‐PH‐domain, which sequesters PI3K‐p85, potently suppressing invasion and metastasis.

Rippled-pattern sebaceoma : A report of a lesion on the back with a review of the literature [PDF]

open access: yes
A 68-year-old Japanese man presented with a nodule that had been present for 5 to 6 years on the right side of the back. Physical examination revealed a dome-shaped, 12 X 13-mm, dark red nodule. It was excised with a 2 to 3-mm margin.

Gut Lactate Boosts Ruminococcus via Histone Lactylation to Mediate Time‐Restricted Feeding Protection in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut

Presacral Myelolipoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Many reports have described adrenal myelolipomas but there have been only a few reports of extra-adrenal myelolipomas. We describe a 74-year-old woman who came to our observa- tion for MRI of the lumbar spine for typical lumbar back pain.

Myeloid‐Derived Grancalcin Promotes Periodontal Inflammation and Pathological Bone Remodeling in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grancalcin (GCA), a myeloid‐derived protein, is enriched in gingival tissues of periodontitis patients and mouse models. Through interactions with CD44 and activation of MYH9, GCA promotes NF‐κB signaling and exacerbates periodontal inflammation and bone loss.

Age outweighs race in survival of sebaceous gland carcinoma of the eyelid: A 21-year SEER database analysis

open access: yesAJO International
Purpose: Sebaceous gland carcinomas (SC) are rare neoplasms arising from the eyelids’ sebaceous glands. Investigating racial disparities in their occurrence, management, and outcomes is crucial for enhancing patient care.

Androgen receptor expression in metastatic adenocarcinoma in females favors a breast primary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Background The differential diagnosis of metastatic mammary adenocarcinoma and adenocarcinomas from other primary sites can be challenging, particularly in tumors that are poorly differentiated and negative for Estrogen/Progesterone receptors (ER/PR ...

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Pilomatrix carcinoma of the lacrimal caruncle: a case report. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A 45-year-old man presented with a 3-month history of a mass located in the caruncle of his right eye. An incisional biopsy had been performed one month prior by another specialist, and the histopathology report showed basal cell carcinoma.
