Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Rare presentation of radicular cyst with sebaceous differentiation

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Oral Sciences, 2014
Sebaceous glands in the oral mucosa are said to be a normal variation, but the presence of the sebaceous gland in the jaw is extremely rare. Sebaceous gland differentiation in dentigerous cysts and in keratocystic odontogenic tumor (earlier odontogenic ...

Extraocular Sebaceous Carcinoma on the Chest Wall – A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2014
Sebaceous carcinoma is a rare aggressive skin cancer derived from the epithelium of sebaceous glands. Sebaceous carcinomas are generally divided as ocular or extraocular locations.

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Impact of skin sensitivity mechanisms on sebum secretion: Management strategies for oily sensitive skin

open access: yesJournal of Dermatologic Science and Cosmetic Technology
Recent epidemiological surveys based on Baumann's classification have revealed a notable rise in the prevalence of oily sensitive skin. The development of oily sensitive skin is primarily linked to the abnormal function of sebaceous glands.

Substance P and Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide in the Glands of External Auditory Canal Skin [PDF]

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology, 2017
Objectives The earwax (cerumen) that covers external auditory canal (EAC) skin contains a mixture of ceruminous and sebaceous gland substances, such as lipids, peptides, and proteins.

New Findings on the Proteins of Sebaceous Glands

open access: yes, 1984
In order to understand the distribution and concentration of proteins with -SH groups or S-S linkages in sebaceous cells during differentiation and holocrine secretion of sebaceous glands, skin specimens from the inner side of ears of New Zealand white ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

MICROMORPHOLOGICAL STUDIES ON THE EPIDERMIS, HAIR FOLLICLES AND SKIN GLANDS OF SHEEP DURING PRENATAL LIFE [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 1985
The histomorphological changes occuring in the sheep fetal skin (Blackface breed), from the 26th to the 130th day of pregnancy, were studied. The stratification of the epidermis started at the 52 ed day of embryonic life.

The Sebaceous Glands: Twenty-Five Years Of Progress

open access: yes, 1976
During the last twenty-five years, research on the sebaceous glands has made significant advances. Many of the new findings are related to electron microscopy, quantitative lipid composition studies, and the hormonal and nonhormonal control of sebaceous ...
