Stable Imitation of Multigait and Bipedal Motions for Quadrupedal Robots Over Uneven Terrains

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
How are quadrupedal robots empowered to execute complex navigation tasks, including multigait and bipedal motions? Challenges in stability and real‐world adaptation persist, especially with uneven terrains and disturbances. This article presents an imitation learning framework that enhances adaptability and robustness by incorporating long short‐term ...

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Adiabatic second-harmonic generation

Optics Letters, 2016
Adiabatic three-wave mixing processes enable broadband, efficient, and robust frequency conversion by slowly varying the phase mismatch between the interacting waves along the interaction region. Up until now, this method was mainly used in the case in which one of the waves was undepleted.
