The Primal-Dual Second-Order Cone Approximations Algorithm for Symmetric Cone Programming [PDF]

open access: yesFoundations of Computational Mathematics, 2007
Given any open convex cone K, a logarithmically homogeneous, self-concordant barrier for K, and any positive real number r < 1, we associate, with each direction x e K, a second-order cone Kr(x) containing K. We show that K is the interior of the intersection of the second-order cones Kr(x), as x ranges over all directions in K.

Fast second-order cone programming for safe mission planning [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2017
This paper considers the problem of safe mission planning of dynamic systems operating under uncertain environments. Much of the prior work on achieving robust and safe control requires solving second-order cone programs (SOCP). Unfortunately, existing general purpose SOCP methods are often infeasible for real-time robotic tasks due to high memory and ...

RESOLVENT AVERAGE ON SECOND-ORDER CONE

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2011
Recently Bauschke et al. introduced a very interesting and new notion of proximal average in the context of convex analysis, and studied this subject systemically in [3-7] from various viewpoints. In addition, this new concept was applied to positive semidefinite matrices under the name of resolvent average, and basic properties of the resolvent ...

Efficient Solutions of Interval Programming Problems with Inexact Parameters and Second Order Cone Constraints

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
In this article, a methodology is developed to solve an interval and a fractional interval programming problem by converting into a non-interval form for second order cone constraints, with the objective function and constraints being interval valued ...

Second-Order Cone Relaxations for Binary Quadratic Polynomial Programs [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2011
Several types of relaxations for binary quadratic polynomial programs can be obtained using linear, second-order cone, or semidefinite techniques. In this paper, we propose a general framework to construct conic relaxations for binary quadratic polynomial programs based on polynomial programming.

Nonsingularity Conditions for FB System of Reformulating Nonlinear Second-Order Cone Programming

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
This paper is a counterpart of Bi et al., 2011. For a locally optimal solution to the nonlinear second-order cone programming (SOCP), specifically, under Robinson’s constraint qualification, we establish the equivalence among the following three ...

Optimality Conditions for Approximate Solutions in Multiobjective Optimization Problems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
We study first- and second-order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for approximate (weakly, properly) efficient solutions of multiobjective optimization problems. Here, tangent cone, -normal cone, cones of feasible directions, second-order

Limit analysis for 3-d structures using second-order cone programming

open access: yesHo Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science - Engineering and Technology, 2014
This paper extends a numerical procedure for limit ananlysis of 3-D structures using node-based smoothed finite element method (NS-FEM) in combination with second-order cone programming (SOCP).

The cone of Z-transformations on the second order cone

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we describe the structural properties of the cone of $\mathcal{Z}$-transformations on the second order cone in terms of the semidefinite cone and copositive/completely positive cones induced by the second order cone and its boundary.
