Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by

Entry trajectory optimization for cross-domain morphing vehicles by hybrid sequential second-order cone programming

open access: yesDefence Technology
This paper proposes a hybrid sequential second-order cone programming (HSSOCP) method with a three-layer scheme for the entry trajectory optimization of the cross-domain morphing vehicles (CDMVs).

Dynamic Current Routing in Conductive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Complex Deformation Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel actuation control strategy in which electrical stimulation generates localized Joule heating in conductive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surfaces, enabling complex 3D deformations from a single homogeneous surface without preprogramming.

Young and Inverse Young Inequalities on Euclidean Jordan Algebra

open access: yesAxioms
This paper mainly focuses on in-depth research on inequalities on symmetric cones. We will further analyze and discuss the inequalities we developed on the second-order cone and develop more inequalities.

Additive‐Manufactured, Multifunctional Bioreactor Technology for Dynamic Culture of 3D Bioprinted Tissue Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...

Multi‐Dielectric Metasurfaces for Ultrabright, Tunable Structural Color and Reconfigurable Optical Filtering with Extraordinarily Large Color Span

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Structural color generation is an emerging field for digital display and printing applications. This report presents a novel truncated‐cone design and the first use of GaP sandwiched between two layers of TiO2, demonstrating ultra‐bright, tunable colors with a record color gamut.

An XFEM based kinematic limit analysis formulation for plane strain cracked structures using SOCP

open access: yesHo Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science - Engineering and Technology, 2013
This paper extends a numerical procedure for limit analysis based on extended finite element method (XFEM) and second-order cone programming (SOCP) to plane strain cracked structures.

Selective Reflection of Chiral Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals Tuned by Electric Field Along the Helix Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that in chiral ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals sandwiched between electrically conducting transparent plates, the reflection color can be reversibly tuned by electric fields applied along the helix axis. The proposed theoretical model, assuming field‐induced coiling of the helix axis, accounts for all observations.

Evaluation of the energy performance of a shallow geothermal facility through a second‐order cone programming

open access: yesEngineering Reports
Energy consumption and operational cost are two decision‐making factors which evaluate the feasibility of any energy system. Whether a thermal unit is efficiently working or not depends on the state properties of the thermodynamic system.

Robust contingency-constrained load restoration method for transmission systems considering modified SOCP formulation of power flow

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
A proper load restoration method can speed up the load restoration phase and reduce the outage losses of power systems after natural disasters. Existing research assumes that transmission lines would not trip again in the load restoration phase, which is
