Interacting Parallel Fluidic Hysterons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The parallel coupling of fluidic hysterons is introduced, establishing advanced functionalities in inflatable soft systems. A pressure–volume framework reveals how preset volumes Δv∗${\Delta }v^*$ tune nonlinear interactions between hysterons and actuation sequences without changing architecture. Experiments validate the predictions, opening new routes

Analysis of External Magnetized Dissipative Thermo-convective Tangent Hyperbolic-micropolar Flow on a Rotating Non-isothermal Cone with Hall Current and Joule Dissipation: Electro-conductive Polymer Spin Coating [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
Motivated by spin coating operations for magnetic polymers, a theoretical and numerical study is conducted of nonlinear, steady-state boundary layer flow and heat transfer of an incompressible tangent hyperbolic non-Newtonian micropolar fluid from a ...

Convergence of a high-order compact finite difference scheme for a nonlinear Black-Scholes equation [PDF]

open access: yes
A high-order compact finite difference scheme for a fully nonlinear parabolic differential equation is analyzed. The equation arises in the modeling of option prices in financial markets with transaction costs.

Polarization Dynamics in Ferroelectrics: Insights Enabled by Machine Learning Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Machine learning molecular dynamics is presented as a route to capture polarization switching, domain wall kinetics, topological polar textures, and polar mechanical coupling beyond the limits of conventional atomistic methods. This Perspective surveys recent progress and identifies key methodological directions, including long‐range electrostatics ...

Numerical simulation of multilane traffic flow model based on exponential velocity-density function

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, we study a multilane traffic flow model incorporating the exponential velocity-density relationship, which yields a nonlinear first-order system of hyperbolic partial differential (PDEs) equations formulated as an initial-boundary value ...

A discontinuous Galerkin moving mesh method for Hamilton-Jacobi equations

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we consider the numerical solution of first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations using the combination of a discontinuous Galerkin finite element method and an adaptive $r$-refinement (mesh movement) strategy.

A sequential regularization method for time-dependent incompressible Navier--Stokes equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The objective of the paper is to present a method, called the sequential regularization method (SRM), for the nonstationary incompressible Navier--Stokes equations from the viewpoint of regularization of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs), and to ...

Assessing Household Welfare in Response to Rising Food Prices in The Gambia

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how rising food prices affected household welfare in The Gambia using nationally representative data from the 2015/16 Integrated Household Survey (IHS‐3). The analysis reflects household consumption behavior and market conditions prevailing during that period and provides a structural benchmark for understanding ...
