Five Canalled and Three-Rooted Primary Second Mandibular Molar

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, 2014
A thorough knowledge of root canal anatomy and its variation is necessary for successful completion of root canal procedures. Morphological variations such as additional root canals in human deciduous dentition are rare. A mandibular second primary molar

Endodontic management of supernumerary tooth fused with maxillary second molar

open access: yes, 2013
Fusion is a rare occurrence, and its definitive diagnosis is of prime importance for successful root canal treatment. This case report discusses the endodontic management of a supernumerary tooth fused with a right maxillary second molar. After 1 year of

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Second molar germectomy and third molar eruption. 11 cases of lower second molar enucleation.

open access: yesThe Angle orthodontist, 1985
Eleven cases followed from enucleation of the unerupted lower second molars through third molar eruption. While results were generally good, three presented third molar malpositions requiring further treatment.

Concrescence of a Maxillary Second and Third Molar

open access: yesJournal of the California Dental Association, 2009
Concrescence is a rare dental anomaly that may be inadvertently diagnosed during a tooth extraction. While extracting a maxillary second and third molar, it became evident that the teeth were attached between the roots. Both teeth were extracted atraumatically and healing was uneventful.Concrescence may increase the likelihood of certain complications ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Effects of different patterns of movement for correcting a deep curve of Spee with clear aligners on the anterior teeth: a finite element analysis

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Objective To analyse the anterior teeth effects of clear aligners on five different patterns of mandibular molar movement and to define the most effective configuration to be implemented with clear aligners through finite element analysis.

Autotransplantation of a Third Molar as a Lower Second Molar Combined with Orthognathic Surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We report the treatment of an adult Class II malocclusion with severe crowding and a hopeless lower second molar. According to the treatment plan, 4 premolars and 4 third molars were to be extracted for 2-jaw surgery. To replace the hopeless lower second

Miniplates as skeletal anchorage for treating mandibular second molar impactions

open access: yes, 2008
Mandibular second molar impactions can be difficult to correct and might require surgery. A young man with an impacted mandibular right second molar was treated with a miniplate, which provided anchorage to upright the tooth.
