Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Oscillatory results for second-order noncanonical delay differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2019
The main purpose of this paper is to improve recent oscillation results for the second-order half-linear delay differential equation \[\left(r(t)\left(y'(t)\right)^\gamma\right)'+q(t)y^\gamma(\tau(t))= 0, \quad t\geq t_0,\] under the condition \[\int_ ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Oscillation of Second-Order Sublinear Impulsive Differential Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
Oscillation criteria obtained by Kusano and Onose (1973) and by Belohorec (1969) are extended to second-order sublinear impulsive differential equations of Emden-Fowler type: x″(t)+p(t)|x(τ(t))|α-1x(τ(t))=0, t≠θk; Δx'(t)|t=θk+qk|x(τ ...

On singular solutions for second order delayed differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
Asymptotic properties and estimate of singular solutions (either defined on a finite interval only or trivial in a neighbouhood of infinity) of the second order delay differential equation with p-Laplacian are investigated.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Second Order Nonlinear Differential Equations with Riccati-Type Solutions

open access: yesMathematics
Solutions to complex nonlinear ordinary differential equations (NODEs) are often obtained by seeking them in the form of series expansions of known solutions to an auxiliary equation.

Oscillatory behavior of the second order noncanonical differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2019
Establishing monotonical properties of nonoscillatory solutions we introduce new oscillatory criteria for the second order noncanonical differential equation with delay/advanced argument \begin{equation*} (r(t)y'(t))'+p(t)y(\tau(t))=0. \end{equation*}

On oscillation of second-order noncanonical neutral differential equations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2021
In the present work, we study the second-order neutral differential equation and formulate new oscillation criteria for this equation. Our conditions differ from the earlier ones.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...
