The Spectrum of Strong Behavioral Equivalences for Nondeterministic and Probabilistic Processes [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2013
We present a spectrum of trace-based, testing, and bisimulation equivalences for nondeterministic and probabilistic processes whose activities are all observable.

An Erbium-Doped Fiber Source with Near-Gaussian-Shaped Spectrum Based on Double-Stage Energy Matching and LPFGs

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
An Erbium-doped fiber source with a near-Gaussian-shaped spectrum consisting of only a single peak, based on the double-stage energy matching and LPFGs, is proposed and demonstrated. A double-stage Erbium-doped fiber source system is built.

A qualitative interpretation of the second solar spectrum of Ce ll [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2006
This is a theoretical investigation on the formation of the linearly polarized line spectrum of ionized cerium in the sun. We calculate the scattering line polarization pattern emergent from a plane-parallel layer of Ce {\sc ii} atoms illuminated from below by the photospheric radiation field, taking into account the differential pumping induced in the

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Spectrum of the Jacobi Tau Approximation for the Second Derivative Operator [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2008
It is proved that the eigenvalues of the Jacobi Tau method for the second derivative operator with Dirichlet boundary conditions are real, negative and distinct for a range of the Jacobi parameters. Special emphasis is placed on the symmetric case of the Gegenbauer Tau method where the range of parameters included in the theorems can be extended and ...

Radiative B decay spectrum: DGE at NNLO.

open access: yes, 2007
We compute the differential ¯B → Xsγ decay width in the Standard Model as a function of the photon energy using Dressed Gluon Exponentiation (DGE).

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Spectrum of Discrete Second-Order Neumann Boundary Value Problems with Sign-Changing Weight

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We study the spectrum structure of discrete second-order Neumann boundary value problems (NBVPs) with sign-changing weight. We apply the properties of characteristic determinant of the NBVPs to show that the spectrum consists of real and simple ...

A qualitative interpretation of the second solar spectrum of Ti i [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2002
The first theoretical investigation of the formation of the linearly polarized solar line spectrum of a complex atom, neutral titanium, is presented. The process of formation of line polarization is modeled by simply considering a plane-parallel layer of Tii atoms illuminated from below by the photospheric radiation field, and accounting for the ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
