ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Unified centralized/decentralized voltage and frequency control structure for microgrids [PDF]

open access: yes
The centralized secondary control strategies for microgrids (MG) are widely used due to their ease of control and coordination with distributed resources.

Event-Triggered Communication Mechanism for DRL Secondary Frequency Compensation in AC Islanded Microgrid [PDF]

open access: yes
Frequency deviation challenges the stable operation of AC islanded microgrids, and the development of machine learning-based control schemes offer a new solution to this problem. This paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) secondary frequency

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Secondary Frequency and Voltage Regulation of dVOC-Based Microgrids Based on Distributed Model Predictive Control

open access: yesEnergies
In order to address the challenges of frequency fluctuations and uneven voltage distributions in islanded microgrids, this paper proposes a distributed model predictive control (DMPC) strategy for secondary frequency and voltage regulation, and it adopts

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Energy Storage Multi-Stage Dynamic Frequency Modulation Control Strategy Based on Inertia–Damping Coordination Tuning

open access: yesEnergies
High renewable penetration reduces system inertia and limits frequency support capability. Conventional energy storage systems using fixed inertia–damping virtual synchronous generator control cannot adapt to the multi-stage characteristics of frequency ...
