WOOD SPECIES USED IN CRAFT BOATS IN PARÁ STATE – BRAZIL

open access: yesRevista do Instituto Florestal, 2019
The fshing activity in the Northern region of Brazil is important for the sustenance of several families; to perform this activity, small boats are used, produced in small yards that have native wood as the main raw material.

The Landscape of Long Non‐Coding RNAs Provides Insights Into the Domestication and Improvement of Pear Fruit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that long non‐coding RNAs represent important regulatory components underlying pear domestication and improvement. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify selected lncRNAs associated with fruit traits, while functional validation uncovers a lignin‐related lncRNA, lncRNA‐pys, that promotes lignin accumulation.

Programmed Interfacial Phase Separation for Spatiotemporal Fungicide Delivery via Tunable Micro/Nano Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Translating dynamic liquid‐liquid phase separation into robust solid‐state architectures remains a challenge in materials engineering. Here, we report a composition‐driven interfacial assembly strategy that couples supramolecular coacervation with metal‐phenolic coordination to engineer tunable fungicide carriers.

Ethylene-Related Gene Expression Networks in Wood Formation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Thickening of tree stems is the result of secondary growth, accomplished by the meristematic activity of the vascular cambium. Secondary growth of the stem entails developmental cascades resulting in the formation of secondary phloem outwards and ...

Comparative stem anatomy of three species of Coryphantha (Cactoideae-Cactaceae)

open access: yesBotan‪ical Sciences, 2022
Background: The genus Coryphantha has the second largest number of species of the tribe Cacteae-Cactaceae. Morphologically, it has been reported that the stem presents mainly globose, ovoid and cylindric variations.

Enviromics and Abiotic Enviromics: Enhancing Stress Biology and Plant Resilience Breeding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental stressors are captured through high‐throughput envirotyping and integrated into an enviromic framework with genomic, transcriptomic, phenomic, and environmental data. AI/ML models enable prediction and guide marker‐assisted selection, genomic selection, genome editing, and gene pyramiding toward improved abiotic stress tolerance, yield ...

Hydraulic function of medullary bundles in a tropical root climber

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Medullary bundles, which are vascular bundles in the pith, have evolved multiple times. However, their functional significance remains poorly understood. Here, we investigated how medullary bundles are involved in the vascular architecture and hydraulic function in a tropical root climber, Adelobotrys scandens (Melastomataceae) to ...

GA20ox orchestrates distinct roles in cambium and xylem development via gibberellin and auxin signaling in poplar

open access: yesIndustrial Crops and Products
Gibberellin 20-oxidase (GA20ox) is a key enzyme of gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis. Its involvement during secondary growth in trees is incompletely understood.
