Modeled Subsidence of Permafrost Terrain 2025–2050: North‐Central Alaska

ABSTRACT A large fraction of the Alaska terrain is underlain by regolith that contains excess ice (ice that in volume exceeds the natural pore space). Possible loss of excess ice would lead to ground subsidence, which in turn would disturb and destabilize the ground surface.

Understanding how cooperative interactions remain stable matters for biodiversity because many plants rely on specialist insects that can also impose reproductive costs. Increasing urban flash flood risk attributable to both climate and development

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
A new event impact attribution methodology that combines convection‐permitting climate model data with flood inundation modelling was used for a five‐hour flash‐flooding event in the suburbs of Leeds in 2014. The results show increased urban flood extent due to both climate change (+16%) and increased urbanisation (+29%).
