Using precipitation datasets and actual evapotranspiration, the SPEI indicates wetter cold seasons across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, with this trend extending to warm seasons in some coastal regions. These changes align with observed changes in vegetation phenology, supporting extended growing seasons, increased maximum vegetation, and improved ...

Nuclear Reactions Rates Governing the Nucleosynthesis of Ti44
Large excesses of Ca44 in certain presolar graphite and silicon carbide grains give strong evidence for Ti44 production in supernovae. Furthermore, recent detection of the Ti44 gamma-line from the Cas A SNR by CGRO/COMPTEL shows that radioactive Ti44 is ...

Structure and Problem Hardness: Goal Asymmetry and DPLL Proofs in
SAT-Based Planning [PDF]
In Verification and in (optimal) AI Planning, a successful method is to formulate the application as boolean satisfiability (SAT), and solve it with state-of-the-art DPLL-based procedures.

A Note on Confidence Intervals for a Binomial p: Andersson–Nerman vs. Wilson
ABSTRACT Numerous approximate confidence intervals in closed form have been suggested over the years for the parameter p$$ p $$ in the binomial distribution. One of the oldest and still most advocated is the Wilson (score) interval, which in this article will be compared with the less well‐known Andersson–Nerman (henceforth AN) interval.

Nuclear structure of 30S and its implications for nucleosynthesis in classical novae
The uncertainty in the 29P(p,gamma)30S reaction rate over the temperature range of 0.1 - 1.3 GK was previously determined to span ~4 orders of magnitude due to the uncertain location of two previously unobserved 3+ and 2+ resonances in the 4.7 - 4.8 MeV ...

Transient stability of grid following inverters: The impacts of damping and fault ride‐through
Abstract The interaction of grid following inverters with a weak grid raises risks of transient instability. The effects of damping and fault‐ride through (FRT) make the transient dynamics more complicated. To investigate the impact of FRT on the transient stability of converters, this paper first employs the switch system theory to construct a ...

Downed woody debris microsite facilitation for planted black huckleberry seedling regeneration
Black huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum)—an economically, ecologically, and culturally important shrub across the Pacific and Inland Northwest—is experiencing widespread declines in suitable habitat because of fire suppression and climate change. We tested the role of experimentally placed downed woody debris (DWD) in mitigating unsuitable habitat ...

Polynomial Structure of the (Open) Topological String Partition Function
In this paper we show that the polynomial structure of the topological string partition function found by Yamaguchi and Yau for the quintic holds for an arbitrary Calabi-Yau manifold with any number of moduli.

Non‐destructive thickness measurement of optically scattering polymer films using image processing
We establish a sample‐ and data‐processing pipeline that allows for high‐throughput optical microscope measurement of porous films, provided they are sufficiently optically scattering. Here, self‐limiting electrospray deposition is used to manufacture scattering films of different morphologies, which are then analyzed.

Our study aims to uncover the impacts of Cassytha filiformis on two native and two introduced hosts in terms of photosynthetic parameters, nutrient levels, and secondary bioactive compounds. Significant results were shown in certain nutrient contents, as well as total phenols and tannins in C. filiformis–host dynamics.
