THE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF THE SUGAR INDUSTRY IN THE CONTEXT OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION OF UKRAINE

open access: yesBaltic Journal of Economic Studies, 2016
The main problem of the Ukrainian economy today is the total loss of production potential. Losing production, the country becomes an outsider in the world economy, “falls out” of the system of international division of labour, giving leadership in the ...

ANN prediction model of final construction cost at an early stage

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
Previous studies developed models to predict final construction cost (FCC) values based on many inputs, which makes them difficult to use. However, relying on models with relatively few inputs will reduce the accuracy of the prediction results.

Tuning the Electronic Structure and Spin State of Fe─N─C Catalysts Using an Axial Oxygen Ligand and Fe Clusters for High‐Efficiency Rechargeable Zinc–Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A FeN4─O/Clu@NC‐0.1Ac catalyst containing atomically‐dispersed FeN4─O sites (medium‐spin Fe2+) and Fe clusters delivered a half‐wave potential of 0.89 V for ORR and an overpotential of 330 mV at 10 mA cm−2 for OER in 0.1 m KOH. When the catalyst was used in a rechargeable Zn–air battery, a power density of 284.5 mW cm−2 was achieved with excellent ...

Measuring the Higgs Sector

open access: yes, 2009
If we find a light Higgs boson at the LHC, there should be many observable channels which we can exploit to measure the relevant parameters in the Higgs sector.

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

SELF-SELECTION AND EARNINGS DURING VOLATILE TRANSITION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Using Bulgarian Integrated Household Surveys for 1995, 1997 and 2001 this paper explores determinants of labor force status – not working, public sector employment, private sector employment and self-employment – and earnings for each of the three ...

Observing the dark sector

open access: yes, 2019
Despite the observational success of the standard model of cosmology, present-day observations do not tightly constrain the nature of dark matter and dark energy and modifications to the theory of general relativity.

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...
