An improved correlation model for sediment delivery ratio assessment

Environmental Earth Sciences, 2009
In the present work, a new simplified model approach for sediment delivery ratio (SDR) assessment is proposed. Modelling and assessing SDR is still an open question. Difficulties rise from the lack of sufficient data availability, on one side, and, on the other, from the inherent uncertainties including spatial variability and temporal discontinuity of

Riparian Sediment Delivery ratio: Stiff Diagrams and Artificial Neural Networks

21st Century Watershed Technology: Improving Water Quality and Environment Conference Proceedings, 21-24 February 2010, Universidad EARTH, Costa Rica, 2009
Various methods are used to estimate sediment transport through riparian buffers and grass filters, with the sediment delivery ratio having been the most widely applied. The U.S. Forest Service developed a sediment delivery ratio using the stiff diagram and a logistic curve to integrate some of the factors influencing sediment delivery heuristically ...

Sediment Connectivity: Punctuated Anthropogenic Sediment Production and Dynamic Sediment Delivery Ratios

2022
<p>Forecasting fluvial sediment yields involves several assumptions about catchment dynamics that should be explicitly realized. For example, sediment delivery ratios (SDR), the ratio of sediment yield to sediment production (Y/P), are often assumed constant and used to translate upland sediment production to downstream deliveries or ...

Sediment-Delivery Ratios for a Small Coastal Plain Agricultural Watershed

Transactions of the ASAE, 1982
ABSTRACT SEDIMENT delivery ratios (SDR) were computed for a 1736 ha, mixed land use, agricultural Coastal Plain watershed, based on observed sediment yield and com-puted gross erosion by the USLE method and an experi-mentally determined soil erodibility factor. Seasonal variation in SDR values was observed.

Estimating Sediment Delivery Ratios for Grassed Waterways using WEPP

Land Degradation & Development, 2017
AbstractGrassed waterways (GWWs) transport sediment and nutrients from upland source areas to receiving waters. Watershed planners have a critical need to understand GWW sediment delivery to optimally target source area management practices. Better physically based tools are needed to estimate sediment delivery by GWWs.

EVALUATION OF GRID-BASED DISTRIBUTED SEDIMENT DELIVERY RATIO MODELS

Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Environmental Regulations II, 2013
The emphasis on a watershed-scale approach to management of water quantity and quality has renewed the focus on hydrologic/water quality modeling at that scale. While the most widely used modeling approach to TMDLs continue to be a lumped approach using HSPF, there is also ongoing development of models that use a distributed parameter approach.

Dependence of the sediment delivery ratio on scale and its fractal characteristics

International Journal of Sediment Research, 2015
Abstract The sediment delivery ratio (SDR) is an indicator used to determine the capacity for eroded sediment to be delivered to the outlet of a particular basin. Based on systematic reviews of SDR studies in China and abroad during the last 50 years, this study analyzes whether the SDR has scale-dependent characteristics and discusses the fractal ...

Enhancement of the SATEEC Soil Erosion and Sediment Modeling System with Better Sediment Delivery Ratio Module

2007 Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 17-20, 2007, 2007
The soil erosion has been one of the biggest concerns in Korea as well as in other countries because of its impacts on ecology and water quality in the receiving water bodies. Among many computer models simulating soil erosion at field and watershed scale has been integrated with the Geographic Information System (GIS) because its nature is essentially

ON THE CALCULATION OF THE SEDIMENT DELIVERY RATIO

Soil erosion and river channel processes
A method for calculating the sediment delivery ratio during erosion in a small catchment area is proposed. A physically based model of soil erosion, transport and accumulation of sediments is used. The dependence of the erosion intensity on the amount of sediment particles transported in a given place is taken into account.
