Biomimetic Dynamics of Nanoscale Groove and Ridge Topography for Stem Cell Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanoscale groove‐ridge structures are engineered by flexibly conjugating RGD‐magnetic nanoparticles to nanogroove templates with variable groove widths at the molecular scale. Magnetic control enables cyclic switching between nanoscale groove and ridge states that modulates ligand accessibility of cellular integrins.

The chromian marbles of Kittilä, Finnish Lapland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1978
The volcano-sedimentary rock association at Kittilä is characterized in many places by the presence of green-colored fuchsite-bearing ferroan dolomite-quartz rocks, locally called chromian marbles.

Extraterrestrial sedimentary rocks on Earth [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
This concept article discusses the possibilities for identifying sedimentary-origin meteorites. The paper concerns (i) the macroscopic candidate for sedimentary meteorite in the epicenter of the 1908 Tunguska catastrophe; (ii) potential parent bodies for sedimentary meteorites; (iii) isotopic heterogeneity of unmixed silicate reservoirs on Mars; (iv ...

Advancements in Carbon‐Based Piezoelectric Materials: Mechanism, Classification, and Applications in Energy Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon‐based piezoelectric materials are systematically categorized based on their structural and functional properties. The mechanisms of stress‐induced charge transfer are elucidated, and their applications are explored across three key domains: piezoelectric catalysis for energy conversion and environmental remediation, piezoelectric biomedical ...

An overview of sensing platform-technological aspects for vector magnetic measurement: a case study of the application in different scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Magnetic sensing platform techniques have been used in many years in an attempt to better evaluate the likelihood of recoverable hydrocarbon reservoirs by determining the depth and pattern of sedimentary rock formations containing magnetic minerals, such as magnetite. Utilizing airplanes, large-area magnetic surveys have been conducted to estimate, for

Evaluation of the potential for dissolved oxygen ingress into deep sedimentary basins during a glaciation event [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Geochemical conditions in intracratonic sedimentary basins are currently reducing, even at relatively shallow depths. However, during glaciation-deglaciation events, glacial meltwater production may result in enhanced recharge (Bea et al., 2011; and Bea ...

Dating the Sedimentary Protolith of the Daldyn Group Quartzite, Anabar Shield, Russia: New Detrital Zircon Constraints

open access: yesGeosciences, 2020
Quartzites and paragneisses of the Archean granulite series of the Anabar Shield (Siberian Craton, Russia) are described geochemically. The Sm-Nd isotope systematics of the rocks and the U-Pb age (SHRIMP II) and geochemistry of zircons from quartzites ...
