Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Influence of temperature and ion concentration on sedimentation characteristics of Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and Tristrontium phosphate (TSP) Precipitates

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2018
Physical and chemical variables of insoluble salts generally affect sedimentation characteristics of precipitates. In this research study, the effects of temperature and ion concentration on the sedimentation of tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

ANALYSIS OF PROBABLE MECHANISM OF PARTIAL METAL MELT STRATIFICATION IN CAPILLARS [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2013
Review of experiments on stratification of binary metal melts in capillaries has been performed. Considering old results and new experimental data represented in this paper, conclusion has made that effect of the layering can be explained only with ...

Velocidade de hemossedimentação: comparação entre o método Microtest X (microssedimentação) e o método de referência Westergren Erythrocyte sedimentation rate: comparison between the Microtest X technique (micro-sedimentation) and the Westergren reference method

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia, 2009
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is an easy and common routine laboratory technique. Over the last few decades, new methods have been proposed to reduce biological sample manipulation, to measure rates using an automated system, to optimize the ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Modelling mass accumulation rates and 210Pb rain rates in the Skagerrak: lateral sediment transport dominates the sediment input

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Sediment fluxes to the seafloor govern the fate of elements and compounds in the ocean and serve as a prerequisite for research on elemental cycling, benthic processes and sediment management strategies.

Effect of sodium carboxymethylcellulose biopolymer on sedimentation properties of trimagnesium, tricalcium and tristrontium phosphates precipitates

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2018
Sedimentation data of bioactive materials are essential in formulation of suspension with desirable requirements. Batch-wise precipitation and sedimentation tests were conducted to evaluate the effect of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Na-CMC) biopolymer
