Molecular markers for seed colour in Brassica juncea.

Genome, 2005
A detailed RFLP map was used to map QTLs associated with seed colour in Brassica juncea using a doubled-haploid population derived from a cross between a black/brown-seeded cultivar and a yellow-seeded breeding line. Segregation analysis suggested that seed colour was under control of 2 unlinked loci with duplicate gene action.

Inheritance of seed colour and identification of RAPD and AFLP markers linked to the seed colour gene in rapeseed (Brassica napus L.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2004
In China Polima cytoplasmic male sterility (cms) is currently the most important hybrid system used for the breeding of hybrids. In an effort to develop yellow-seeded Polima cms restorer lines, we used yellow-seeded, doubled haploid (DH) line No.2127-17 as the gene source in crosses with two elite black-seeded Polima cms R lines, Hui5148-2 and 99Yu42 ...

Inheritance of seed colour in turnip rape (Brassica campestris L.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2004
The inheritance of seed colour was investigated in the progenies of crosses between seven yellow seeded forms and a brown seeded one of turnip rape (Brassica campestris L.). Seed colour differences were found to be determined in each case by one or two genes with epistatic effect. Moreover, independent inheritance of hilum colour was observed.
