The distribution of ATP within tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) embryos correlates with germination whee as total ATP concentration does not

open access: yes, 2002
The distribution of ATP in tomato seeds was visualized by monitoring the luminescence of frozen sections on top of a gel containing all the components of the luciferase reaction, but excluding ATP.

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Seed priming improves endosperm weakening, germination, and subsequent seedling development of Solanum lycocarpum St. Hil.

open access: yes, 2011
Seed priming is a treatment to improve seed quality and plant growth upon germination and is applied widely to crop species to improve uniformity and yield.

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

Eyeing emergence: modified treatments for terminating dormancy of conifer seeds

open access: yes, 2011
Many seeds of coniferous species display a deep primary dormancy at maturity and require several weeks of pretreatment to produce seed populations that germinate in a vigorous and timely manner.

ECM‐Stiffness Mediated Persistent Fibroblast Activation Requires Integrin and Formin Dependent Chromatin Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prolonged exposure to stiff extracellular matrix drives cancer‐associated fibroblasts into a persistently activated myofibroblast state. Two parallel pathways are identified: β1 integrin activation smoothens the nuclear lamina to reduce lamin–chromatin contacts, while the formin mDia2 regulates nuclear actin to alter chromatin organization.

Inheritance of Fresh Seed Dormancy in Peanut [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Incorporation of seed dormancy limited duration in Spanish peanut (Arachis hypogae L. ) genotypes is required to avoid loss in pod yield and seed quality because of in situ germination in unpredictable rainfall environments.

Humanized and Charge‐Optimized CSPG4‐Specific CAR‐T Cells show Enhanced Efficacy against Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CSPG4 is identified as a high‐value, stemness‐associated target in HPV‐negative HNSCC. By implementing rational biophysical engineering, a humanized and charge‐optimized CAR is developed to overcome tonic signaling‐induced exhaustion. This strategy induces a profound transcriptomic shift toward a rejuvenated, stem‐like memory state, significantly ...

A model of seed dormancy in wild oats (Avena fatua) for investigating genotype x environment interactions

open access: yes, 2007
Dormancy is an adaptive trait in seed populations that helps ensure that seed germination is distributed over time and occurs in environmental conditions suitable for seedling growth. Several genes.. associated with seed dormancy in various plant species,
