Toward Harmonizing Quantification of Dopamine Neuron Imaging Biomarkers in Parkinson's Disease: The Centamine Scale
Annals of Neurology, EarlyView.Objective
Dopaminergic imaging is a key biomarker for both the investigation of the biology of Parkinson's disease and related synucleinopathies and the evaluation of potential therapies in clinical trials. This work presents a harmonized approach for quantifying dopaminergic molecular imaging tracers, such as [123I]ioflupane (dopamine transporter scan Zhen Fan, Graham Searle, Gaia Rizzo, Justin Albani, Patrick Cella, Robert Comley, Gregory Klein, Luca Passamonti, Cristian Salinas, Adam J. Advanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView. This study examines the influence of boron‐doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGN) blended in cast and 3D‐printed pre‐crosslinked alginate‐dialdehyde‐gelatin (ADA‐GEL). Addition of 0.5% and 1% MBGN did not negatively affect the viability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), or the sprouting of HUVEC spheroids.Rafael Schmid, Yvonne Kulicke, Evelin Sandor, Hsuan‐Heng Lu, Stefan Fleischer, Isabell Lang, Harald Wajant, Hana Kaňková, Andreas Arkudas, Annika Kengelbach‐Weigand, Raymund E. Applications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.Abstract Premise
Genebanks must maintain viable seeds for decades. Seeds that germinate are clearly alive, but some seeds, often from wild populations, do not germinate because they are dormant, empty, aged, or damaged (D.E.A.D.). This work evaluates the effects of D.E.A.D.Christina Walters, Lisa M. Hill, Katherine D. Heineman, Hannah M. The Anatomical Record, EarlyView.Abstract
A recent debate has emerged between Caspar et al. (2024) and Herculano‐Houzel (2023) on inferring extinct dinosaur cognition by estimating brain neuron counts. While thought‐provoking, the discussion largely overlooks the function of cognition, as well as partly neglects the difficulties involved in estimating neuron numbers, which according ...Thomas Rejsenhus Jensen, Ivo Jacobs, Kristina Kverková, Lona Lalić, Alexandra Polonyiová, Patrik Stehlík, Stephan A.
