Investigation of Salicylic Acid-induced Change on Flavonoids Production Under Cadmium Toxicity in Buckwheat (Fagopyrum Esculentum Moench) Plants [PDF]
Salicylic acid (SA) is an imperative endogenous plant hormone. It is considered as one of the most important signaling molecule, involved in both abiotic and biotic stress tolerance.

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Oviposition by mutualistic seed-consuming pollinators reduces fruit abortion in a recently iscovered pollination mutualism [PDF]
A prerequisite for the evolutionary stability of pollinating seed-consuming mutualisms is that each partner benefits from the association. However, few studies of such mutualism have considered the benefit gained by the pollinators.

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Bamboos seldom bloom and almost no seeds could be harvested, and, hence, few works are focused on germination physiology. Systematic research on the physiological effects of colchicine on germination and seedling growth of bamboo seeds is lacking.

A novel aspect of essential oils: coating seeds with thyme essential oil induces drought resistance in wheat [PDF]
Coating seeds with biostimulants is among the promising approaches in crop production to increase crop tolerance to drought stress. In this study, we evaluated the potential of coating durum wheat seeds of the cultivar ‘Karim’ with thyme essential oil on

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Evolutionary-thinking in agricultural weed management [PDF]
Agricultural weeds evolve in response to crop cultivation. Nevertheless, the central importance of evolutionary ecology for understanding weed invasion, persistence and management in agroecosystems is not widely acknowledged.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Plant Pumilio proteins: Parallels and prospects of antagonistic functions in non-plant organisms
Pumilio (PUM) proteins belong to the Puf family of RNA binding proteins that shows very strong conservation across eukaryotes, both structurally and functionally.
