Reconfigurable dynamic beam shaping in seeded frequency doubling
A new method that allows simultaneous frequency doubling and dynamic shaping of a Gaussian beam into a variety of light patterns is introduced. The novel technique is based on the controllable generation of multiple-vortex patterns in seeded schemes. Applications include the generation of dynamic patterns of frequency-doubled, coherent optical tweezers.

The database of seed shape was made with results published or new measurements done. In general the method is always the same: 1) search for a geometric model that fits the contour of a given seed image and 2) calculate the percent of similarity between seed image and geometric figure (J index). For the more common geometric figures (cardioid, ellipse,

Vertical Bridgman growth of sapphire—Seed crystal shapes and seeding characteristics [PDF]
Abstract The growth of sapphire by the traditional vertical Bridgman (VB) method was studied by using various shapes of seed crystals and tungsten (W) crucibles shaped to match the seeds. Approximately 2-in. diameter, c-axis sapphire single crystals were reproducibly grown from three kinds of seed: thin, tapered and full diameter.

Binary tree-seed algorithmswith S-shaped and V-shaped transfer functions
Tree-seed algorithm (TSA) is a nature-inspired metaheuristic optimization algorithm. TSA is proposed for solving continuous optimization problems. In this work, TSA is modified with transfer functions for solving binary optimization problems. Continuous search space is mapped to binary search space with transfer functions.

Self-Affinity, Self-Similarity and Disturbance of Soil Seed Banks by Tillage
Soil seed banks were sampled in undisturbed soil and after soil had been disturbed by tillage (tine, harrow or plough). Seeds were sorted by size and shape, and counted.
