Seed vitality of sunflower inbred lines influenced by meteorological factors and seed size [PDF]
Climate changes inevitably affect plant production, but it is difficult to predict their direct impact on a vitality (germination) of a produced seed.

Process for preparation of large-particle-size monodisperse latexes [PDF]
Monodisperse latexes having a particle size in the range of 2 to 40 microns are prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization in microgravity. A reaction mixture containing smaller monodisperse latex seed particles, predetermined amounts of monomer ...

ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

The Role of Seed Characteristics on Water Uptake Preceding Germination
Seed germination is a complex process involving imbibition, activation and subsequent growth. In addition to re-establishing metabolic activity, water uptake helps stabilize macromolecules and biochemical reactions, resulting in radicle protrusion ...

Cumulative individual seed production in the polycarpic Caesalpinia gilliesii (Fabaceae): effects of temporal variability in floral display, plant density and pollination [PDF]
In polycarpic species, floral display size and density of conspecific neighbours are time variable as well as their effects on pollination and fecundity.

Seed size variability: from carob to carats [PDF]
The seeds of various plants were used as weights because their mass reputedly varies so little. Carob ( Ceratonia siliqua ), which has given its name to the carat, is particularly famous in this regard. But are carob seeds unusually constant in weight and, if not, how did the myth arise?

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Novel Seed Size: A Novel Seed-Developing Gene in Glycine max
Soybean-seed development is controlled in multiple ways, as in many known regulating genes. Here, we identify a novel gene, Novel Seed Size (NSS), involved in seed development, by analyzing a T-DNA mutant (S006). The S006 mutant is a random mutant of the GmFTL4pro:GUS transgenic line, with phenotypes with small and brown seed coats.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
