Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Variance Component of Yield and Related Traits of Black Soybean Genotypes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The objective of this research was to determine the trait variance in black soybean lines in terms of yield and yield components. The materials used were F8 lines generated from hybridization of two local varieties, i.e.

Genetic determinism of seed yield components in lucerne

open access: yes, 2023
Seed production is a major component of the commercial development of a variety but breeding for seed yield is expensive. A set of 400 cultivated lucerne accessions were phenotyped for seed yield traits in two locations and genotyped with GBS markers. A large diversity was found among accessions but the heritability of the traits was moderate. QTL were

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Response of french bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) to rate and ratio of potassium fertilizer application [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
A field study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of potassium fertilizer, when applied in different ratios, as a basal or top dressing on vegetative growth, immature pod and seed yield of French bean as well as seed quality for planting purpose ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Hybrid Varieties for Organic Cereals? Prospects and acceptance of hybrid breeding for organic production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Hybrid breeding utilizes the advantages characterizing F1 plants in a targeted manner: Vigour, uniformity, and a combination of all dominant traits of the parental lines.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
