Development and First Results of a No-Till Pneumatic Seeder for Maize Precise Sowing in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain of China

open access: yesAgriculture, 2021
In Huang-Huai-Hai plain of China, farmers collect the maize straw for livestock during maize harvest to increase their revenue. To maintain the sustainable productivity of the soil, all straw after the wheat harvest is returned to the field.

Comparing Methods for Overseeding Winter Rye into Standing Soybean

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences & Environment, 2019
Core Ideas Several methods of overseeding a winter rye cover crop into soybean were tested. Tractor‐mounted seeders reduced soybean yield by 4% relative to an aerial seeder.

Exploring Winter Legume Cover Crop Management Strategies in Irrigated Maize Monoculture Systems

open access: yesAgronomy
Management of legume cover crops to reduce their cost by using no-tillage and reducing seed rate could increase their adoption. Despite the growing interest in cover crops, no information exists simultaneously regarding the potential of different species

Managing nitrogen through cover crop species selection in the U.S. mid-Atlantic.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Cover crops have the potential to be agricultural nitrogen (N) regulators that reduce leaching through soils and then deliver N to subsequent cash crops.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Results of estimating adaptability of sainfoin varieties in the south of the Rostov region

open access: yesЗерновое хозяйство России, 2022
The purpose of the study was to estimate such adaptability parameters, as a linear regression coefficient, stress resistance, genetic flexibility and stability coefficient, according to the traits “green mass productivity” and “dry matter productivity ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Geographical Variation in Cover Crop Management and Outcomes in Continuous Corn Farming System in Nebraska

open access: yesAgriculture
Cover crops (CCs) are widely recognized for their numerous benefits, including enhancing soil health, mitigating erosion, and promoting nutrient cycling, among many others. However, their outcomes vary significantly depending on site-specific biophysical
