The Journal of Horticultural Science, 1976SummaryYield, fruit quality, growth and the levels of 12 elements in the leaves were measured for 12-year-old Marsh Seedless grapefruit trees on six rootstocks. Trees on rough lemon and Cleopatra mandarin were larger than those on sour orange and consistently produced 67 and 23 per cent more fruit respectively than on sour orange.

The Journal of Horticultural Science, 1984SummaryThe effects of autumn (prior to bloom), spring (mid-bloom) and summer (post-‘June- drop’) girdles on fruit size were determined. Other than the effect on fruit number, it was found that autumn girdles reduced fruit size, spring girdles had little effects, but those done in summer increased fruit size.
