Glutathione and Laccase Dual‐Responsive Lignin Nanocarriers Inspired by Host‐Pathogen Interactions for Fungicide Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Discover bio‐inspired fungicide‐loaded lignin nanocarriers that mimic host‐pathogen interactions, unleashing targeted fungicide release in response to glutathione and laccase. These innovative biobased nanocarriers promise superior crop protection, with increased photostability, enhanced foliar retention, and enabling bidirectional translocation for a ...

Effects of Stock Type and Planter Experience on the Time Required to Plant Loblolly Pine Seddlings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Inexperienced workers planted container-grown and bare-root seedlings of loblolly (Pinus taeda L.) on a rocky, upland site near Batesville, AR in a comparison of planting speed and survivability.

Slug grazing effects on seedling and adult life stages of North American Prairie plants used in designed urban landscapes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Designed vegetation is a major contributor to ecosystem service provision incities, and as such the study of how herbivory and other ecological factors determine its capacity to deliver such services, is long overdue.

Application of a Dynamic Semitransparent Agrivoltaic Panel for Controlling Sunlight Allocation to Solar Cells and Crops

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Effects of dynamic agrivoltaic semitransparency controls on cucumber seedling growth are assessed for this study using a micro‐cell photovoltaic panel. Seedling growth with 9:30–14:30 agrivoltaic shading is comparable to that without shading. The dynamic shading regulates the electrical energy and crop production allocation.

An Antagonism Between Ethylene Signaling and DNA Methylation Orchestrates the Progression of Leaf Senescence in Non‐heading Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CMT2 mediates the maintenance of DNA methylation on the promoters of SAGs, thereby inhibiting EIN3A untimely activating SAGs’ expression. Aging‐impelled striking upregulation of EIN3A strongly suppresses the expression of CMT2 to reduce the methylation level, which releases the activation of EIN3A on SAGs, thus initiating and accelerating the ...

Tree regeneration responds more to shade casting by the overstorey and competition in the understorey than to abundance per se [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Manipulating the overstorey is the key tool for forest managers to steer natural regeneration. Opening up the canopy does not only create favourable light conditions for tree seedling growth, but also for (competitive) understorey species.

Natural Allelic Variations in IbCHYR1–IbZnFR Complex Regulate Fusarium Root Rot Resistance in Sweet Potato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FfRlpA2, a conserved Fusarium effector, functions as a protease inhibitor by hijacking the E3 ubiquitin ligase IbCHYR1 to degrade the resistance factor IbZnFR, thereby promoting Fusarium pathogenicity. Conversely, the high dosage Pro::IbZnFRHap2 allele was associated with resistance to root rot disease.

Quantitative genetics of maize (Zea mays L.) during seedling establishment under cool conditions : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Plant Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Two experiments were conducted to study cool tolerance in maize (Zea mays L.). The first experiment was carried out under controlled environment to evaluate several genotypes from five synthetic populations which are currently being used to develop ...
