Effect of Seedling Raising Shelf Size on Seedling Growth of Rice

Journal of the Korean Society of International Agriculture, 2013
Rice seedling raising in shelf apparatus not only saves time but also reduces labor input. However. it sometimes gives weak seedling because of light shading during the seedling growth in shelf. To develop technology for healthy seedling growth in seedling raising shelf, the effect of seedling raising shelf width and Interlayer on seedling growth of ...

Enantioselective effect of glufosinate on the growth of maize seedlings

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2018
Glufosinate is a non-selective chiral herbicide, which has been used extensively around the world. However, limited information on the enantioselectivity of Rac- and L-glufosinate against crops. In this study, the enantioselective effects on the growth, antioxidant, and targeted enzyme activities of maize seedlings of chiral glufosinate were ...

Seed Germination and Seedling Growth

1996
In order to understand factors regulating germination and subsequent growth of the seedling we should first be knowledgeable as to the processes involved during this period. Propagation by seeds is the major method of reproduction in nature and the most widely used method in agriculture due to its high efficiency.

The effect of acetylcholine on growth and on growth inhibition by CCC in wheat seedlings

Planta, 1973
The inhibition of the growth of wheat seedlings by 2-chloroethyltrimethylammonium chloride (CCC) was strongly reduced by root application of acetylcholine (Ach). Ach was applied after uptake of CCC by the roots or by the leaves. Ach also stimulated growth of non-CCC-treated seedlings up to 30% when applied to the roots.

Gibberellins and early growth in seedlings of Phaseolus vulgaris

Planta, 1969
1. Amounts of gibberellin extractable from young bean seedlings using phosphate buffer, and following acid hydrolysis, or protease treatment, have been examined and compared with those obtained using methanol extraction. 2. Considerable differences in the amounts of gibberellins extractable are found for different batches of material.
