Bone Sarcoma Survival in the US Military Health System: Comparison With the SEER Program

Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
Background: Access to care is associated with cancer survival. The US Military Health System (MHS) provides universal health care to all beneficiaries. However, it is unknown whether survival among patients with bone sarcoma in a health system providing universal care is better than that in the general population.

Predictors of survival in pediatric adrenocortical carcinoma: A Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program study

Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2013
Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is rarely described in children. There is variation in incidence worldwide. This study sought to identify national incidence rates and independent prognostic indicators for children. The SEER database was queried for the years 1973 through 2008 for all patients with ACC less than 20 years of age.

Incidence of testicular germ cell cancers in U.S. children: SEER program experience 1973 to 2000

Urology, 2006
The incidence of testicular cancer in white adults in the United States increased during most of the last half of the 20th century, but information on trends in the occurrence of prepubertal testicular cancer is lacking. We analyzed a population-based cohort to determine whether the incidence trends of prepubertal testicular germ cell tumors have risen

How representative are the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) Program cancer data of the United States?

Cancer Causes and Control, 2004
Data from the 11 Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results tumor registries cover 14% of the U.S. population and are often used to provide national estimates of cancer incidence and survival. Cancer mortality data for the U.S. and for SEER are compared to assess the representation of SEER to the U.S.Comparisons between US and SEER cancer mortality ...

Improved survival of follicular lymphoma patients in the surveillance, epidemiology, and end-results (SEER) program

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2004
6578 Background: Follicular lymphomas (FL) comprise 17% of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases in the United States. Several single- and multi-institution groups have published analyses of long-term follow-up of FL patients, yet it remains unclear whether survival patterns in FL have changed over the past twenty years.

The aim of this study was to determine overall surgical compliance with treatment protocols and impact of nodal sampling outcomes in these tumors.A query of the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results program (SEER) database was performed from ...
