Coproducts in the category $${{\mathcal {S}}}(B)$$ of Segal topological algebras, revisited

Periodica Mathematica Hungarica, 2020
In this paper we generalize the result (obtained by the author earlier in the paper titled “Products and coproducts in the category $${{\mathcal {S}}}(B)$$ of Segal topological algebras”) about the existence of the coproduct of objects of the category $${\mathcal S}(B)$$ from finite collection of objects of $${{\mathcal {S}}}(B)$$ to any ...

Local topological order and boundary algebras

Forum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2023
We introduce a set of axioms for locally topologically ordered quantum spin systems in terms of nets of local ground state projections, and we show they are satisfied by Kitaev’s Toric Code and Levin-Wen type models.

An algebraic definition of (∞,n)-categories

Theory and Applications of Categories, 2015
In this paper we define a sequence of monads T(∞,n)(n ∈ N) on the category ∞-Gr of ∞-graphs. We conjecture that algebras for T(∞,0), which are defined in a purely algebraic setting, are models of∞-groupoids.

On Segal entropy

ANNALI SCUOLA NORMALE SUPERIORE - CLASSE DI SCIENZE
The paper is devoted to the investigation of Segal's entropy in semifinite von Neumann algebras. The following questions are dealt with: semicontinuity, the 'ideal-like' structure of the linear span of the set of operators with finite entropy, and ...
