Localized High‐Concentration Electrolyte in Li‐Mediated Nitrogen Reduction for Ammonia Synthesis
This study demonstrates LHCE (localized high‐concentration electrolyte) as an effective electrolyte engineering strategy to enhance the efficiency of the Li‐NRR process. Abstract The lithium‐mediated nitrogen reduction reaction (Li‐NRR) is a promising green alternative to the Haber–Bosch process for ammonia synthesis.

This publication explores the correlation between features obtained from the first formation cycle, gas composition after the formation cycle, and performance after a total of 10 cycles. A total of 101 cells with three different electrolytes (with FEC, VC, and without additives) was investigated. The results provide starting points for further research

In this study, a novel approach for investigating the formation of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) in Na‐ion batteries through the coupling of in situ liquid electrochemical TEM and gas‐chromatography mass‐spectrometry is proposed. To optimize this coupling, experiments are conducted on the sodiation of hard carbon materials using two different ...

The inorganic/organic interface within the solid electrolyte interphase of lithium‐ion batteries is likely the place where the electrolyte decomposition reactions occur. The current progress on molecular modeling techniques (e.g., DFT, force fields, machine learning potentials) of the SEI and the challenges each method faces is discussed.

Multiscale Investigation of Sodium‐Ion Battery Anodes: Analytical Techniques and Applications
Here, several analytical methods across multiple time and length scales are discussed, covering a wide range of physical and (electro)chemical properties. To fully grasp the complexity of sodium‐ion battery anodes, integrated studies on the same battery system, ranging from the cellular level to the atomic level, are required.
