Redundant and useless seismic attributes
GEOPHYSICS, 2006Many seismic attributes are redundant or useless and confuse seismic interpretation more than they help. They are easily recognized given a few guidelines and tools. Discarding them leaves an attribute list that is both more manageable and more honest.

Seismic attributes and their classification
The Leading Edge, 1996Attributes have proliferated recently with different selections available on different workstations. What do they all mean? When do we use one and when another? The answers to these questions are not easy but the first step is to understand what our options are, and herein lies the purpose of this article.

POST STACK SEISMIC ATTRIBUTE ANALYSIS
2001Hydrocarbonaccumulations sometimes have effects on seismic data which can be used toindicate suitable worthy accumulations of hydrocarbon areas. The most prominentof these effects in increase in amplitude. Hydrocarbon accumulations mayproduce sufficent changes in amplitude however changes in acoustic impedance canbe caused by various reasons.
