Seismic response analysis of an irregular base isolated building

Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering, 2011
This paper assesses the reliability of code-compliant linear and nonlinear dynamic analyses for irregular buildings with base isolation system (BIS). Comprehensive analyses are carried out for a case study comprising a large reinforced concrete multi-storey framed hospital with 327 high-damping rubber bearings.

Seismic Analysis and Response of Structures

2016
The major objective of seismic analysis is to develop a quantitative measure or a transfer function that can convert the strong ground motions at a structure’s foundation to loading and displacement demands of the structure, which provide essential input for a reliable assessment of structural capacity.

Simulation Analysis for the Nonlinear Seismic Response of Seismically Isolated Continuous Bridge

2008 International Workshop on Modelling, Simulation and Optimization, 2008
According to the behavior of seismically isolated continuous bridges, the bidirectional nonlinear characteristics of lead rubber bearing are taken into account by using two orthogonal nonlinear level spring elements. Based on the FEA software, the analysis models of seismically isolated and non-isolated continuous bridges are established.

Seismic response analysis of frame with friction damper

Engineering Computations, 2019
Purpose This paper aims to study the seismic response of frame structure with friction dampers. Design/methodology/approach The state equation of the structure subjected to the earthquake is presented and solved, from which the maximum drift and the interlayer drift angle of the floors of the structure subjected to the seismic waves of four types of

Introduction of Seismic Ground Response Analysis

2014
Computer programs for seismic response analysis have been developed mainly in the field of structural analysis. The analysis of ground might be possible by these computer programs. However, they are not used at present. Significant difference exists in the constitutive model or stress–strain relationships. As soil shows nonlinear behavior at very small

Seismic Response Analysis of Cable-Stayed Bridges

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
For floating system cable-stayed bridge, the longitudinal displacement of stiffening girder and moments of towers are very large when strong earthquake happens. Too large displacement of stiffening girder leads to collision between girders of the main bridge and the approaches.

Seismic response and analysis of earth dams

2013
Many earth dams around the world are located in zones characterised by moderate to high seismicity. Their seismic stability can be particularly critical for the safety of the areas in the downstream side and therefore an in depth understanding of their response during earthquakes is required.
