An inkjet printed seismic sensor
2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2015In this paper an inkjet printed sensor in the mesoscale is presented with the aim to investigate its behavior as accelerometer in the low frequency domain typical of inertial stimuli coming from human caused and seismic phenomena.

Seismic receivers with quartz sensors
Seismic Instruments, 2009The results of theoretical and experimental studies of the basic characteristics of seismic receivers with quartz sensors are presented: the working frequency band is 0.1–30 Hz, the dynamic range is 120 dB, and the temperature coefficient of pendulum displacement is 0.2 μm/°C.

A hydrophone streamer that includes several arrays of optical fiber pressure sensors. Each array consists of at least three sensors symmetrically disposed around the inside of the streamer skin to form a vertically-disposed array. Each sensor modulates a coherent light beam in accordance with the instantaneous ambient water pressure. The output signals

On the use of a seismic sensor as a seismic source
GEOPHYSICS, 2013We investigated the use of seismic sensors as small seismic sources. A voltage signal is applied to a geophone that forces the mass within the geophone to move. The movement of the mass generates a seismic wavefield that was recorded with an array of geophones operating in the conventional sense.

Experience in seismic signal recording using broadband electrochemical seismic sensors
Seismic Instruments, 2010Development and application of broadband seismic sensors, namely velocimeters of electrochemical type (chemotrons), are considered. The principle of operation and design of modern electrochemical (molecular-electronic) converters of seismic signals for linear and rotary motions are described.

Permanent Downhole Seismic Sensors in Flowing Wells
65th EAGE Conference & Exhibition, 2003It is generally accepted that the 'Oilfield of the Future' will incorporate distributed permanent downhole seismic sensors in flowing wells. However the effectiveness of these sensors will be limited by the extent to which seismic signals can be discriminated, or de-coupled, from flow induced acoustic noise originating within the production tubing.

Sensor technology for microhole seismic applications
SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1995, 1995Los Alamos engineering, laboratory and field studies are exploring the integration of drilling and instrumentation requirements for the most economic means for deployment of borehole seismic sensors. The minimum hole-diameter requirement for the installation of borehole seismic sensors and associated electronics, is compatible with holes of greatly ...

Imaging Seismic Tomography in Sensor Network
2013 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing in Sensor Systems, 2013Tomography imaging, applied to seismology, requires a new, decentralized approach if high resolution calculations are to be performed in a sensor network configuration. The real-time data retrieval from a network of large-amount wireless seismic nodes to a central server is virtually impossible due to the sheer data amount and resource limitations.
